Brief description of work in the field of Regenerative Medicine:
In our Institution we developed a wide field on Cellular Therapies based on Regenerative Medicine and the Immunogenetics. Several sections are included in this field like: the Hellenic cord blood bank, the mesenchymal stem cell bank, the section for the applicable use of mesenchymal stem cells (chondrocytes, osteoblasts etc) and the lab for research and developing techiniques like e.g iPS cells technology, the use of scaffolds for cell development etc. Also there is the section on Immunogenetcs for the selection of frequent and rare HLA haplotypes for transplantation.
